As I begin 2015, the greatest lap around the sun of my entire life, I am reminded of the some of the words of Og Mandino in The Greatest Salesman in the World:
Thus a new and good habit is born, for when an act becomes easy through constant repetition it becomes a pleasure to perform and if it is a pleasure to perform it is man’s nature to perform it often. When I perform it often it becomes a habit and I become its slave and since it is a good habit this is my will.
I am doing the work in my business, talking to people. Which will enable both them and me to have a “Life by Design” with a happy balance of work, play, workouts, and family.
I will laud mine enemies and they will become friends; I will encourage my friends and they will become brothers. Always will I dig for reasons to applaud; never will I scratch for excuses to gossip. When I am tempted to criticize I will bite my tongue; when I am moved to praise I will shout from the roofs.
One of the leaders in my company says, “When your team is doing nothing and complaining, make sure that you are not complaining about them… otherwise they are just ‘DUPLICATING’ you!” Thus, I am trying not to complain, about anything, at all.
I will consider each day’s effort as but one blow of my blade against a mighty oak. The first blow may cause not a tremor in the wood, nor the second, nor the third. Each blow, of itself, may be trifling, and seem of no consequence. Yet from childish swipes the oak will eventually tumble.
How do I build a huge money-making team? I set appointments daily by making calls and/or having conversations using skilled words. I show the company business plan video during those appointments. Then, I just collect a decision (Customer or Associate, their choice). It is just those three things. It is simple. Just keep swinging, with persistence.
I have come so far already. Today I begin a new life.
It is definitely time to ‘Think and Grow Rich’.
